Four years ago, SCOTT began this project with one goal in mind: to simply build the fastest bike the triathlon world has ever seen. They wanted to create the bike you want when you’re chasing glory in Kona.

To make this possible, engineers devised completely new approaches to aerodynamics, cockpit adaptability and integrated storage space.

Aerodynamic wonder
From day 1, SCOTT has taken the athlete’s airflow into account to make the Plasma 6 the fastest triathlon bike in true real-world conditions.

Position of the down tube

The most aerodynamically optimized position of the down tube would be directly behind the front tire. However, even the slightest movement of the front wheel would create strong turbulence and significantly increase air resistance. Extensive testing has shown that the second fastest position is a wide distance between the front tire and the down tube, making this the fastest option in real-world conditions.

Rear wheel adjustability

The same goes for the rear wheel. The closer the tire is to the seat tube, the more aerodynamic it is. Unlike the front wheel, the rear wheel is always aligned with the seat tube. To give every rider the chance to ride in the most aerodynamic position, regardless of the choice of wheel or tire, there are 6 different wheel mounting positions available.

Integrated Storage Space
Hydration, nutrition and storage have been a cornerstone of the design from the start. The hydration and nutrition systems are integrated into the frame and cockpit, allowing the athlete to drink and eat without leaving the aero position and easily refill on the go. The storage box and seatpost are designed together as a unique air channel and also provide space for spare parts. Rider and bike become one system, working together to generate more speed.

Adaptability

Both pedaling efficiency and aerodynamic performance depend heavily on the rider’s position. Our Syncros engineers developed a complete system of base bars, extensions and saddle positions, allowing for a huge range of adjustability. This allows for a perfect fit for the unique needs of each athlete.

Cockpit

The cockpit of the new Scott Plasma can move completely up and down.

Extension settings

Wide range of extension settings. Adjustable from 0°; 2.5°; 5°; 7.5°; 10°; 12.5°; 15°; (degree).

Adjustable pads

The pads of the Plasma 6 can be adjusted both inwards and outwards.
