Dear sports fans!

My name is Rob Nijmeijer, 31 years old and living in Groningen. From July 1st I will strengthen TriathlonWorld as Customer Journey Manager. I will be your new point of contact for customer service. In addition to customer service, I will be involved in sales in the store in Meppel, I can advise you on nutrition, the right training and competition products.

My goal is to make the experience at TriathlonWorld even better for you as an athlete! In the past I have worked in healthcare and the social domain, so you can also contact me for all personal issues. 😉

Since little

In addition, I have always been involved in sports. As a little boy I started with football, like so many children. My father was always cycling and skating and around the age of 12 I got my first racing bike, then with tubular gears. In addition, I also went into the woods on the mountain bike and made my first competitive kilometers in the youth categories. However, cycling had the most love and I raced until I was 19 at WRV De Peddelaars in Hoogeveen. During my student days in Groningen, I rowed for 5 years at AGSR Gyas.

The transition to triathlon

After my student days I stayed in Groningen and coached at Gyas for a few years. Then I started to feel the itch to start doing sports again. I started cycling again and also registered with GVAV, the triathlon association in Groningen. Gradually I started doing more triathlons and less cycling. Now I am only concerned with triathlons. Last year I became Dutch Champion Agegroup 30-35 in Challenge Almere, and I am looking forward to doing more full distances in the coming years! With Triteam Groningen I participate in the team competition (a series of sprint and quarter triathlons with a ranking), in addition I focus on the half and full distance.
